Our Major League Baseball picks are officially here! Thanks to Tylor Johnson, we will be offering FREE MLB winners in July and August. This is an opportunity for all Swoop clients to see how well he does with his baseball picks and also make a little bit of free money! Here are the first two picks of the year by Tylor…

1. Chicago White Sox – Chris Sale (14-2) vs. Atlanta Braves – Matt Wisler (3-8)

– Chris Sale has been nearly unhittable for almost every hitter he has faced in his career, but his success against the players on the Atlanta Braves offense is incredible. Combined, Braves’ hitters are hitting a hair above .170 against Sale in his career and have not taken him deep. Although Sale has not been as sharp as usual and the odds here are heavy, I don’t think there has been a safer bet in quite some time. If the recent wins over a struggling Cubs team has you believing that the Braves can win this game, then avoid it, but I strongly suggest laying the odds and taking free money when the opportunity arises.

THE PICK: White Sox -300 (2-units)

2. Detroit Tigers – Mike Pelfrey (2-7) @ Toronto Blue Jays – J.A. Happ (11-3)

– J.A. Happ has been one of the best stories in baseball this season, after many years of struggling, injury, and disappointment. After a huge victory on Thursday evening, the Blue Jays continued to prove to people that they very well may be the best team in the American League. The Tigers will oppose Happ with the journeyman Mike Pelfrey, who has pitched pretty well of late, despite an inflated ERA. After last night’s collapse, I expect the Tigers bats to come alive tonight, especially since they hit J.A. Happ very hard as a unit. One month ago when these two clubs faced, the Tigers teed off on Happ for 6 runs in 5 innings en route to an 11-0 win, and we may see more of the same tonight. If Pelfrey can avoid disaster, this game is a great value play. Toronto fans will not be too “Happ-y” with this outcome (see what I did there?)

THE PICK: Detroit Tigers +165 (1-unit)
